Last week, I finally put the 10-year-old KitchenAid stand mixer I snagged on Facebook Marketplace to work, and to my relief, my first foray into baking in my new apartment went off without a hitch. I whipped up all the ingredients for cream cheese cookies in the bowl, and even though I’m usually wildly impatient when it comes to baking, I followed the instructions to a T. (I even waited the full, excruciating 30 minutes for the dough to cool in the fridge!) However, as I was pulling them out of the oven, that’s when I realized: When I was outfitting my new kitchen, I completely forgot to buy a cooling rack.
Cooling is a seriously important part of the baking process. You don’t want all of your hard work to go down the drain at the very end, because if left on the pan, your treats might become overdone. By some miracle, my cookies survived (I think I had undercooked them to start), but trust me, you should avoid my blunder at all costs. I’m sure you can guess what my next purchase for my kitchen is, but in a way, I’m glad I forgot to buy one sooner, because All-Clad’s stellar nonstick cooling rack is on sale for Labor Day!
What is the D3 Stainless 3-ply Bonded Nonstick Cooling Rack?
If you know us here at The Kitchn, you know we are huge fans of All-Clad — one of our contributors has used their cookware for over 15 years, and it’s never failed her. (She wrote: “Most All-Clad cookware is designed to last a lifetime and I’m 100% confident mine will.) So yeah, you’ll definitely get the most bang for your buck if you go with All-Clad products. But usually the biggest (and only) reservation shoppers have when it comes to the brand is the hefty price tag that comes along with it. But this cooling rack is a total steal at only $23, and it has the same high level of quality as any other All-Clad pot or pan.
It’s made with the strong aluminized steel that the brand is known for, and it’s coated with a ceramic-reinforced PTFE nonstick coating that’ll make getting your baked goods off of it easy. And of course, you aren’t limited only to cooling and crisping desserts — it’s perfect for placing veggies on after roasting them in the oven, as well as separating grease and fat from certain foods. And when you’re done using it, the rack is slim enough that storing it is a breeze.
What All-Clad Reviewers are Saying
If you’re like me and have yet to buy one or have an old one you’re needing to upgrade, this All-Clad cooling rack is your best bet. It won’t be on sale forever, though, so make sure to snatch it up by Labor Day!
